Information on the origin of Whyalla's street names was obtained from the two published booklets - "60 Years of Whyalla" and "A History of Local Government".
Some of the information in these notes where it relates to streets named after Defence Force personnel was researched by Mr J Morrison. Information was obtained from listings on the Whyalla War Memorial (Bradford Street), the Whyalla Honour Roll (Council Chambers), the Adelaide War Memorial and from dossiers on individual members of the armed forces that were obtained from the Australian Archives.
