A $4 million redevelopment completed February 2000 has given Whyalla what has been described as the best facility of its type outside the metropolitan area.

In addition to the 25m indoor heated swimming pool, squash and racquetball courts, sports hall and weightlifting facilities - visitors can also enjoy a spa and sauna, wading pool, playpool, waterslide, cafeteria and superior changing facilities. The centre also provides supervised classes like aqua aerobics, circuits, aero boxing, tai chi, and swimming. A range of equipment can be hired including balls, bats and racquets for the various sports.

Disabled access is available to the pools, while disabled toilets and parking is also provided.
