The original Whyalla Webcam was situated on the roof of the Civic Building in Darling Tce, looking towards the intersection of Darling Tce, Forsyth St and Patterson Street. The camera was removed when repair work occured on the Civic Building roof and it will not be replaced.
However - two new cameras have been installed around 17m up on Whyalla Council's communications tower in Gebhardt St. The camera on the left faces south-east towards the Whyalla foreshore and Spencer Gulf, and the camera on the right faces west towards the geographical centre of Whyalla and out towards the Middleback ranges (it will be affected by the setting sun).
