Hosted by the Eyre Peninsula Landscape Board and National Parks and Wildlife Service South Australia.
Kerri Bartley from Birdlife Australia will reveal the secret lives of shorebirds and seabirds in an engaging talk to launch the new Eyre Peninsula 'Boating, Fishing, and Birding guide' to rare and threatened birds that are likely to be seen by boat. This will be followed by a 15-minute virtual dive of the Great Southern Reef, featuring Whyalla’s cuttlefish.
Learn all about rare and threatened birds you are likely to see by boat, how to identify them, and how you can contribute data that supports research to help protect them.
Then sit back and put on a pair of VR goggles and immerse yourself in the marine life of the ‘Great Southern Reef’. See the colourful giant Australian cuttlefish, friendly sea lions, sea dragons and Port Jackson sharks. Experience what it's like to dive in some of South Australia's iconic marine park locations without getting wet.
