CUTTLEFEST IN FULL SWING

Don't miss out on these fantastic events this CuttleFest

Nearly a month into CuttleFest 2019 and things are definitely heating up this cold start to winter, with plenty of activities on the go and coming up.

Some of our ongoing activities include going to Snorkel or dive anytime so suit up and dive in. Join a small group or go out with a buddy at any time throughout the season. Experience this spectacular annual event, only 30 minutes from Whyalla, easy access into the water with the amazing cuttlefish seen about 4 metres from the shoreline. You can do this throughout all of Cuttlefest from June to the end of August out at Stony Point, Pt Lowly. Whyalla city Council CEO Chris Cowley recently jumped in with the cuttlefish and was amazed by the experience

"Believe it or not it is not that cold in the water fully geared up, you actually get to enjoy yourself and see the amazing cuttlefish going about thier business, it was a truly amazing experience" Chris said.

"Come along with some friends and enjoy this unique experience, also bring something warm to drink afterwards as it can be a bit chilly once you get out"

"There is a Virtual Reality 3d experience down at the visitor information centre if you don't want to jump in the water where you can experience the cuttlefish in a warmer setting" Chris said.

The VR experience will also be on display over the next two weekends at the Curious Cuttles - Science in the pub night, where you can book in for dinner and enjoy a night to share the wonder and curiosity of the incredible Giant Australian Cuttlefish of Whyalla, with resident experts, researchers and artists. Children are also welcome with a 'Kids Korner' set up with colouring in competition and games.
