Curious Cuttles Science, Art and VR in the Pub Night

learn all about the amazing cuttlefish during a comfy night out

Join EMS - Experiencing Marine Sanctuaries staff and volunteers, guest artists, and SA Scientists for a meal and learn more about the rock star lifestyles of cephalopods. Experience a mesmerizing dive with cuttlefish from the comfort of your chair via virtual reality goggles, watch guest artist Wildcard Sue draw a cuttlefish throughout the evening. Marvel at cuttlefish paintings, images, sculptures, and drawings. There will be activities for children including colouring in competition with prizes and VR experiences.

6.00 pm - There will be a Cuttlefish – VR360 experience. & artist Wildcard Sue will draw a giant cuttlefish on the big screen. 

7.00 pm - Bangarla Welcome to Country. Bangarla elder TBC

7.05 pm -  Introductions – artists, artwork, and scientists 

7.10 pm - Cephalopod artworks

7.30 pm - Cephalopods and marine art – Ecologist and Educator Janine Baker

8.00 pm - Rockstar’s of the Ocean - the Giant Cuttlefish – Prof. Bronwyn Gillanders

8.30 pm - Q&A panel with artists and scientists
