Inspired by the grit, industry and proud working history of Whyalla, the event has been built to reflect the strength and character of the city and its people.
The event will be headlined by Australian rock icons The Screaming Jets, joined by These Days, Funk Me, Funky Monks and local Eyre Peninsula artists, creating a lineup that is raw, real and true to the spirit of Whyalla.
“We’ve played some loud shows in our time, but there’s something special about taking rock to a town built on grit and steel. Whyalla knows what hard work is, and that’s exactly the kind of crowd we love—people who show up ready to go all in. We’re fired up to headline Forged in Steel this March and bring a massive night of Aussie rock to South Australia. It’s going to be loud, it’s going to be sweaty, and it’s going to be unforgettable.” — Dave Gleeson, The Screaming Jets
With a legacy spanning decades, The Screaming Jets have delivered multiple Top 10 albums and continue to dominate charts, including their 2023 release Professional Misconduct which reached #1 on multiple ARIA and national charts. Known for powerful live performances and fronted by Dave Gleeson, the band remains one of Australia’s most respected touring rock acts.
