Whyalla Foreshore

The Whyalla Foreshore provides a large leisure and recreation area; popular for events, family fun and relaxation on the ocean shore.

The Whyalla Foreshore zone features a marina and boat ramp; café; change rooms; showers and toilets; lawns; beach shelters; free electric BBQ’s; lifesaving; a large shaded playground area and is linked with a walkway to the beautiful Ada Ryan Gardens.

Offering safe beach swimming with a swimming enclosure in the marina the Whyalla Foreshore with a nearby fishing jetty is the ideal place to catch tommy ruff, garfish, and some species of whiting, squid, and blue swimmer crabs. At low tide you can walk out to the “blue line” in search of a feed of fresh crab. A pod of friendly resident Bottlenose Dolphins will often visit the Whyalla Marina.

At the eastern end is an alternative site for swimming and is less affected by low tides. Other facilities include a beach shelter, car park, and public toilets (including showers) next to the nearby yacht club.
